Against proposal to increase MBBS course by one year
To/Against/For: Union Health Ministry,Government of IndiaThe Union Health Ministry of India headed by Anbumani Ramadoss has decided to introduce rural basing for one yr.This increases the MBBS course of 5 & 1/2 yrs to 6 & 1/2 years.
As medical students of India,we are not against rural basing but it broadens an already lengthy professional course.Most of us are from lower-middle-class families & have duties towards our families.
By bringing in this fresh proposal the authorities aims to render Dr.* in agrarian areas under the National Rural Health Mission[NHRM],but it's at the expense of our careers.The rural basing should be admitted under the 5 & 1/2 yr course.
After search we have discovered the true motive behind this.This is move to bank the votes of people in rural regions by catering them unregistered medical students.
WHY NOT SEND 1000s OF certified DOCTORS WHO prefer to do work IN RURAL regions?----THAT'S BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE TO BE bore A SALARY & GIVEN INCENTIVES AS GOVERNMENT SERVANTS. SO WHY NOT INSTEAD SACRIFICE THE MEDICAL STUDENTS!! ---This is a hijack of our future..... the aim is not National Rural Health Mission---- instead it is National Rural VOTES mission.
Another need is to exhibit to the world that we have doctors in rural regions,even if medical facilities & essential drugs are inferior.In a few rural healthcare centres,necessary drugs alike paracetamol are also in short. WHAT CAN WE Dr.* DO IN SUCH centers. WE DO NOT HAVE A MAGIC WAND. WE CANNOT DRIVE A CAR WITHOUT WHEELS!!!
"The Bill Gates Foundation" had decided to invest in bettering the rural wellness care in India,but seeing the existent infrastructure,it has called back it's funds.THIS IS A SHAME!!!
The president of India, Smt.Pratibha Patil must help us & put an end to this proposal. We respect you madam & we hope that you will look into this matter & take concrete action......
