OCTA Expansion Project
To/Against/For: petition for fundingWe, the undersigned, as residents of Opelika, Alabama and the surrounding area, support the expanding and updating of the Calhoun Tennis Center.
The Opelika Calhoun Tennis Center is in desperate need of more courts in order to be able to expand the tennis programs that are already in place as well as establish new ones. The additional courts will also allow for additional and much bigger tournaments, both for kids and adults. With new courts there will be a need for additional parking, bathrooms and updates made to the grounds and the center itself. We implore the City Council to allocate funds to both expand and update the tennis center as this center has the potential to make both a huge community and economic impact on our city. The Opelika Tennis Association (OCTA) will work diligently to seek USTA grants and community sponsors in order to assist with this project.
