We the American credit cardholders petition the members of the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives for an immediate and much firmer revision to the recent Credit Legislation passed in April of 2009. It is discriminatory as it is relatively weak and ineffective in protecting card holders from strongarm penalties from the credit card companies, who have recently raised minimum payments by 250% and interest rates to much higher percentages. In some cases they even strive to close accounts of cardholders, regardless if they've paid on time or not. The Bill of Rights states that no group should be treated any differently than another, all shall be equal and the lobbying power of the credit industry, should not and cannot be an influence to getting preferential treatment and in turn, cause undo suffering of cardholders with no concern in this bad economy.
It is also the right of the citizenry to bring suit against the Congressional bodies if this travesty is not resolved.
We respectfully submit this Redress request with hopes that the Congress will resolve it quickly and with compassion for the needs of the citizens of these United States.
