Power Rangers Franchise Reboot

To/Against/For: A New Power Rangers film reboot

As you know, early last year, after 17 seasons & 700 episodes, Disney had pulled the plug on the “Power Rangers” series (that’s right) after “RPM”, the series is officially come to a close (for now). From August 28, 1993 to December 26, 2009, the “Power Rangers” franchise has cemented them as part of American pop culture & developed a legion & a generation of fans (including Super Sentai fans) both old & new.

Now that the series is over, 16 years had passed; the technology in the film world has now caught up & other film franchises are getting a 21^st century makeover (e.g. Batman: Begins, Casino Royale [2006 film], Star Trek [2009 film], etc.), the time has come for Hollywood to do a Power Rangers film reboot from a classic, cheesy, corny children\'s series into a serious, sci-fi, superhero, action, fantasy, epic film series.

            To reboot or “re-imagine” the Power Rangers franchise, I have 12

01. Create a new & an original universe & timeline that doesn’t tie-in with the “Power Rangers” universe & the “Super Sentai” universe.

02. It would start from scratch, make it an origin story.

03. The inspiration, tone & format would be a combination of Transformers (2007 film) & The Guyver (&

Also, Batman: Begins, Battlestar Galactica (2004 TV series) & Star Trek [2009 film]). MAKE IT SERIOUS!

04. Blend the fantasy & realism in one as it is happening.

05. Have the special effects (digital & practical) realistic.

06. Have the characters more driven.

07. Have the storyline common sense.

08. Make the fight sequences believable (add choreographers Tony Jaa, Scott Adkins, David Belle & Cyril Raffaelli).

09. Add Michael Bay as the Producer.

10. Give the new film franchise a PG-13 rating for intense sequences of sci-fi action stylized violence throughout & an “average” running time of 2 hrs & 20 (or 30) min.

11. Distributed under 20th Century Fox (they should ask Disney for permission to distribute without them).

 

AND FINALLY!!

 

12. Cast the “main characters” unknown with a martial arts background.
