On August 3rd 2008, 7 year old Katelynn Angel Sampson was brutally murdered by her Custodial Caregiver, Donna Irving and her Common Law spouse Warren Johnson....
911 Disbatchers were called in the wee hours of the morning on the 3rd of August and led to believe that a child(Katelynn) was choking... When Paramedics and Police arrived on the scene it became abundantly clear that this was a brutal case of Child Abuse and Katelynn was deceased... What Police and Paramedics walked into that Dreadful early morning was said by Toronto Ontario Canandian Police to be the WORST CASE OF CHILD ABUSE THEY HAD SEEN IN OVER TWENTY YEARS..
Donna Irving was granted Temporary Custody of Katleynn by her Mother Bernice Sampson and a Family Court Judge( whom did not perform a criminal background check before granting the Custody order) as Bernice was having a personal crisis and thought her baby girl would be better cared for by her long time friends Donna Irving and Warren Johnson... Bernice has stated publically that she had NO IDEA that Donna had a criminal Record for Violence until Police notified her after Katelynn's death... Bernice has also publically stated that had she known about the Criminal Record, she would have never left Katelynn in Donna's care.... She honestly thought that Katelynn would be well cared for as Donna had always led everyone to believe that she loved Katelynn....
Donna Irving was arrested and charged on the scence and Warren was charged in this horrific crime day's later.... In September 2008 those charges were upgraded from 2nd Degree Murder to 1st Degree after they discovered evidence that this crime was Premeditated! Our Goal with this petition is to be Katelynn's voice and ask The Crown Attorney's prosecuting this Case to Please ask the Jury/Judge to Sentence them both to LIFE IN PRISON WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF PAROLE EVER!!! What they did to Katelynn was a horrific crime.... They broke every bone in Katelynn's little body... She was also found Malnourished, Brutally battered and Beaten and according to media reports she had been scalped, but that is yet to be confirmed.. For Katelynn to be found Malnourished means she suffered weeks of starvation as Katelynn was a happy, chubby, beautiful little Girl... Katelynn's Murder and this case reformend Child Custody Law's in the Province of Ontario and Now anyone who seeks Permanent or Temporay Custody or Guardianship of a Minor Child will undergo a criminal background check and if one is found you will not be granted Custody or Guardianship!
