2 weeks Notice Pay

To/Against/For: 2 weeks pay in lieu of severance pay

Companies are asking for a 2 weeks notice when an employee gives their resignation. Then the company should give 2 weeks pay once they terminate an employee. This is in lieu of severance pay. There are companies who does not give severance pay, but have the audacity to ask their employees to give a 2 weeks notice prior to leaving the company.
