Unconditional Pardon for Joshua R. Hunt

To/Against/For: for Joshua R. Hunt

Background:  On July 1, 2010, Joshua R. Hunt was sentenced to one and one third to four years in States Prison.  Joshua has taken responsibility for his actions by pleading guilty to two counts of arson third degree class C.  Joshua had been out on bail from October 16, 2009 till his sentencing on July 1, 2010.  During this time, Joshua had completed the day alcohol rehabilitation program, he was involved in the Recovery Center Work Program, and was attending evening alcohol rehabitiation program three nights a week.  Joshua was seeing Mary Jo Sabo, Ph.D. a Biofeedback Consultant and Burton Mindick, Ph.D. in Psychotherapy-Remediation for ADD/ADHD.  Through the doctors evaluations they found that Joshua has one of the most serious and globally affected cases of ADD/ADHD, that they have seen in recent years.  Dr. Sabo and Dr. Mindick immediately began treatment to retrain Joshua's brain.  Joshua's treatment and rehabilitation was progressing in a positive manner, due to his incarceration his treatment has been placed on hold.  Also during this time, Joshua sought and secured full time employment, as an electrician to help aid in his financial burden brought on by his medical treatment.

Petition: We the undersigned respectfully request that the Governor David A. Paterson fo the State of New York grant Joshua R. Hunt an unconditional pardon of his felony charges and sentence.  Due to his medical disorder and lack of proper treatment, we feel that Joshua received a sentence that will not benefit himself or society.  We all agreaa with his doctors - Joshua's medical disorder fueled with alcohol casued actions, which would have never occurred otherwise.
