Petition for a Sidewalk
To/Against/For: City of Donahue for the citizens of DonahueWe, the undersigned, call the City of Donahue, the Donahue Park and Recreation Board, the NorthScott School Board, and elected neighborhood officials to work together to connect the existing sidewalk at North 8th Avenue Court to North 9th Avenue in Donahue, Iowa.
The completed sidewalk will:
*Improve pedestrian safety, offering a safe alternative to those who are currently forced to walk in the busy street from North 9th Avenue to North 8th Avenue Court.
*Improve accessibility to the John Glenn Elementary School, the Donahue Park and Recreation Ball Park, and the playgrounds.
Contribute to a more livable community by encouraging more foot traffic and less automobile traffic and provide a continuous route throughout the City of Donahue.
We request that all funding sources be explored including those from the City, Park Board, and school capital budgets, grants, and private corporate contributions.
