RE: Various consular services
Dear Mrs. Chauhan
This petition letter is to draw your attention to the following:
* A clear explanation of Surrender Certificate is required. Why one has to pay $168 and why a need for it now? A new immigrant to any country has enough financial issues to deal with, so why is the Indian government now imposing this hefty fee? Apparently, for $168.00 the Indian passport will be stamped cancelled and returned to the bearer.
* Second, your office is requested to reduce the current visa fee for senior citizens. These individuals have already paid their dues to the society and now live on a limited income. Either introduce a discounted rate for anyone over 65, or make it free for these individuals.
* Third, a request to review the outsourced consular services being provided by VFS Global in Ottawa. Applicants are being expected to pay more for a service, which the Indian High Commission was earlier providing very efficiently. It takes longer to obtain a visa and costs an extra $19.25 as service fee. The telephone line to VFS Global is always static and the hearing impaired may have issues with it.
I, the undersigned, urge to give due consideration to my concerns.

| Girish Parekh | I condemn the policies of government of India. They are unfair, unjustified and totally wrong. I urge the Govt. to withdraw their policies with regard to the various visa issues contained in the petition. |
