In an effort to keep our community safe we need the excessive speeding/aggressive driving in our community to be immediately addressed. We've had countless near misses with both children and animals almost being hit by cars/trucks that use our community as a cut through to avoid the traffic congestion located at the Gleedsville/Masons Lane/Rt 15 intersection. We are requesting traffic calming measures be implemented on Woodside Place, Oatlands Chase Place, Oak Bucket Lane, Partridge Place, Tanager Place, Murphy Drive and Crimson Place. In addition to traffic calming measures we also need more speed limit signs, more stop signs and more of a law enforcement presence in our community.

| Rowe Leathers | We reside at 20535 Oatlands Chase Place and although we are fortunate enough to be located in the culdesac, there have been many instances that we have been walking or playing and vehicles have come down the street at speeds unsafe for pedestrian or children on the road. We urge the County to help make our neighborhood safe for families to enjoy. | |
| Rhonda Hatter | I live at 20409 Oatlands Chase Pl. and I agree that something needs to be done to assist in slowing down drivers on our road. The Watch for Children signs and the one 25 mph. sign do not seem to be impacting drivers on this road. I have two small children and pets. | |
| Julie and Jeff Zalinski | We live at 40748 Woodside Place. We have lived here for seven years and have grown increasingly concerned about the speed of the vehicles coming up and down our road. I have been increasingly aware of the large trucks that have been using our residential street since our neighborhood has become a cut through between Route 15 and Evergreen Mill Road. We live at the base of the hill on Woodside Place and it is amazing at the speeds these large trucks and private vehicles pick up as they head down the road. We have two children and a dog and I have to watch them like a hawk when they are in our front yard. I please ask that consideration be given to calming the excessive speed through our neighborhood before a tragic event occurs! | |
| Deborah Belote | I live at 20437 Oatlands Chase Pl and am very concerned about the volume of traffic that we are now experiencing. The speed of the cars and trucks is one problem and the use of cell phones/texting is also very serious. I have been on the side of the road and had to jump into the ditch several times due to the inattention and speed of the drivers. It makes me fearful to walk in my own neighborhood. | |
| Virginia Morgan | I have lived at 20437 Oatlands Chase Pl since 1975. We were led to believe that this neighborhood would remain closed to through traffic and were never informed of the intent to open it to traffic as a cut through to RT 621. Since this has occurred, traffic is non stop at speeds often exceeding 50 mph. It would have made more sense to hard surface Woods Road which is not a residential neighborhood and would not have affected so many families. Our children and pets are no longer safe in our neighborhood. Please find a way to stop this traffic. There are also large trucks using our neighborhood as a "cut through"! | |
| Todd Hargest | I reside at 20386 Oatlands Chase Place. Over the last few years the excessive speed and increase of trafic on our residential streets has become an issue. | |
| Georgia Herron | I reside at 20412 Oatlands Chase Place and I agree we absolutely need traffic calming measures implemented to keep the community/residents safe from drivers that use excessive speed and agressive driving in our, once quiet, residential area. |
