We're against Metropolitan Transportation Authority to cut B51 bus service.
Currently, B51 runs on weekdays only between Downtown Brooklyn and City Hall in Manhattan.
B51 bus provides lifeline of eldery and disable who cannot use subways or buses. It is also popular bus for Chinese resident who also goes these lines. It is alternate bus when elevators at subway stations are out of service at ADA stations.
We urgue you to keep B51 BUS.

| Felicia | I have panic attacks in the subway too. This is my only way of getting to work-unless I take car service which will cost me $21 one way! Please don't cut this bus! | |
| T Johnson | Today was the first day this bus was not running and I had a panic attack boarding the 6:08 am f train to NY. I have been forced to ride the train with Anexity, Panic Disorder, Post-tramatic Stress Disorder as well as claustrophia. I have to maintain a job and this bus was my way of getting to work without having to be underground. Please reconsider this decision. I know I am not the only person feeling this. I understand reductions, but both the 51 and 39 bus routes were discontinued. There is a difference between reductions and discontinuing. I am dreading returning home tonight from work in the event I have another attack from riding an overcrowded train. I am not eligible for Asscessiride. What else am i supposed to do. Please reconsider the B51 and the B39 bus. | |
| Mitchell | This bus provides a direct route for low-income residents of Brooklyn to obtain healthy, fresh, and cheap fruits and vegetables from Chinatown without having to carry heavy groceries up and down the subway station stairs. Please do not eliminate this bus route, as it will affect low-income, elderly, and disabled passengers the most. | |
| Danielle C | This is the best it goes from downtown to downtown how could they cut it. | |
| Lisa Jacobson | Use a motorized wheelchair; find it too difficult to ride the train (gap between platform and train car; limited trains)/ | |
| H. Wong-Eng | Please do NOT elminate the B-51! My 85 year old Asian mother living in downtown Brooklyn really needs this bus route to get to and from Chinatown. This is absolutely an essential lifeline for her as she cannot negotiate long staircases in the subway system. Please, please retain the B-51 !!! | |
| Patricia Lie | don't cut this bus! it's the only way for us to get to the city. | |
| Alan | I live in Concord Village and work in Chinatown. The B51 was a life-saver when I had broken my leg and could not negotiate the stairs of the subway system. The experience gave me a glimpse of what the elderly and handicapped individuals have to deal with daily. Cutting the B51 hurts the ones that need it the most: our seniors and our disabled. Don't be so cruel to do this to your fellow New Yorkers. | |
| Joan R. Dillon | The B51 Bus serves the Court System in both Downtown Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan. It is a needed service between the two areas since the trains are extremely crowded most of the time, andthpse workers are often undertight time restrictions. Keep the B51 Buses!!! | |
| Lori Dillon | This bus is vital to those who work in and around the Brooklyn and Manhattan courts, as well as the surrounding areas. |
